Did you know…

Enjoy these fun facts about CyCon

Our Customer Service rep is a single volunteer, Angela Dukes, who handles all registered authors. She is not an author and is not getting any promotional benefits for doing this. Ms. Dukes has been on medical leave for the last two weeks due to a family emergency. We’re not sure when she will be back, however, she is a trooper. Angi Dukes is still checking emails and balancing CyCon with her emergency.

No one is getting paid. All funds collected have been going into the cost it takes to run CyCon and we’re still in the red. Our server costs start at $90. a month, and can run as high as $300 a month. The graphics cost started at $700. The Anthology cost another $500. All monetary awards are paid out of pocket by Angela B. Chrysler.

***

It costs more than $2,000 to register Brain to Books as an LLC. This is an expense Ms. Chrysler will have to pay out of pocket when the time comes.

***

We do not have staff. We have 14 volunteers who have graciously donated their time to help while still balancing book releases, full time jobs, and families. They get nothing out of their time donated to building CyCon except the experience and friendships.

***

Angela B. Chrysler didn’t charge for the first two years of CyCon. We had close to 300 non-paying authors at that time…and no volunteers.

***

In 2015, our first year, we received 20,000 hits and crashed our servers.

***

The average author spends $13 and gets 3 events.

***

CyCon was started in 2015 because Angela B. Chrysler needed to distract herself with something big after writing Broken. You could say CyCon was birthed from Broken.

***

In 2015, after writing Broken, Ms. Chrysler was rushed to the ER. CyCon was held four days later.

***

We are not wallowing in money. We don’t want donations. We would like you to buy our books, read them, love them, and come back for more.
