When I began this endeavor in October 2014, I had no idea what it would become. In 2015, I organized 160 authors. In 2016, I juggled 800 attending. I would have dropped the act had a select number of individuals not stepped in to help me. By the 2017 season, I had the pleasure of bringing in some of the most amazing minds and biggest hearts I have ever had the honor of knowing. And, in 2018, we return for the 4th annual Brain to Books Cyber Convention and Book Expo. To them, and to all of you for joining us on this journey, thank you. Without you, I would not have been able to carry this load.
I am better knowing you.
Angela B. Chrysler
Brain to Books, Owner
Angela B. Chrysler is a writer, logician, philosopher, and die-hard nerd who studies theology, historical linguistics, music composition, and medieval European history in New York with a dry sense of humor and an unusual sense of sarcasm. She lives in a garden with her family and cats.
While writing, Ms. Chrysler fuzzies her cats and survives on coffee, Guinness, and the writings of Edgar Allan Poe who strongly influences her style to this day. When she is not writing, she enables her addictions to all things nerdy, and reads everything she can get her hands on no matter the genre. Occasionally, she finds time to garden, mother her three children, and debate with her life-long friend who she eventually married.
BRAIN TO BOOKS
On 15 October 2014, Ms. Chrysler conceived an idea for Brain to Books, an online beginner’s manual for authors that accumulates all her writing and publishing findings and thoughts into one page. One year later, she had collected nearly 1,000 followers with access to hundreds of authors, bloggers, and readers. Using the Brain to Books brand, Ms. Chrysler hosts events, promotions, and tours for bibliophiles.
“Writing is hard. Publication doesn’t have to be.” Brain to Books takes the guess work and complications out of publishing for an indie author and makes the road less traveled a little less bumpy for those of us paving the way of indie publishing. We are the first. The generation of authors who are venturing forth, cutting our way through a world unexplored in hopes to find an alternative to Traditional Publishing. Why? Because writing is hard. Publication shouldn’t be. Official Site
Born and raised in Southern California, Ani’s been a nomad, spending time in such places as Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, and Northern California before finally settling on an island in the Puget Sound. Her life experiences have formed her into all-around person with the technical knowledge and analytical mind of a programmer, creative and detailed orientation of a writer, and aesthetic instincts of a photographer.
Her writing career started when a friend in Cyprus made her promise to stop throwing away her writings because she thought they weren’t good enough. After returning to the States, Ani set out to finish a single horse story and tried to get it published. However, the book, like the writer, needed time to mature.
While perfecting her craft, Ani graduated from San Francisco State with a BA in Industrial Arts and worked several jobs from retail sales to human resources project management. Her innate ability to learn new computer programs with minimal instruction combined with her need to be creative led to her current long-term stint as a web development consultant.
The book, meanwhile, spawned several siblings until there was enough for a series. Not knowing what to call it, Ani turned to another friend who suggested a word play on the books main themes of horses, space, family, and heroes. Spirit of the Lone Horse, the first book in the Stars of Heros series, was published in March 2015. She is currently working on the rest, with an ambitious plan of publishing forty-two when all is said and done. Learn More
Ani has been with CyCon since 2016 and passed away 3 March 2018. She is survived by her words and her Brain to Books family.
